Archaeological site located in the Purépecha Plateau in north central Mexican state of Michoacan. Its name comes from the Purépecha word tz'intzuni = hummingbird, and means place of the hummingbirds. It was founded by the cacique Tarasco Tariácuri , around 1325 , near Lake Patzcuaro .
