Burradale Shetland

Burradale Shetland

Burradale Shetland Islands, United Kingdom/Burradale is a 148m high hill on the east side of the Tingwall Valley, about 4km west of Lerwick. Apart from the stunning views of Tingwall and beyond, Burradale is famous for its five ladies - Mina, Betsy, Brenda, Sally and Karen - who together make up the most productive wind farm (in terms of capacity load) in the world! Shot on a beautiful August day in a 15 - 20mph breeze, in this short film we see the ladies working hard together as well as some stunning views of the area. To the north east is Dales Voe, and to the east the Shetland Golf Club - the second most northerly 18 hole course in the UK. To the north west we see Tingwall, Herrislea, Veensgarth and Gott, with Tingwall Loch and the beautiful fertile Tingwall Valley to the west. Lerwick and Scalloway can also be seen.Filmed, edited and produced by Rory Gillies. Music is "Wet Socks" by Jahzzar, released under a Creative Commons license. CC 2015 The Shetland Flyer.
