Easter Quarff Video Easter Quarff, Shetland Islands, United Kingdom/Gulberwick, Shetland Islands, United Kingdom/Easter Quarff lies five miles to the south of Lerwick. Once a small village of crofters and fishermen it has grown considerably over the last few years due to its proximity to Lerwick. With only 12 crofts and less than 30 houses 25 years ago there is now approaching 80 houses with more being built. The area has been occupied since the Stone Age, with several chambers and evidence of burial sites in the vicinity. Although no longer used, the church was built in 1830, designed by Thomas Telford.Leaving Easter Quarff we head north to Gulberwick, a populous suburb of Lerwick. Only a few decades ago Gulberwick was a tiny hamlet. Lying a couple of miles south of the town there is now more than 200 houses spread around the wick, and building work continues on new housing. It was once a parish in its own right, but annexed to Lerwick in 1722.Shot with a GoPro Hero 3 Black at 1080/25 and Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal on a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter.
