You just have to find out!!! THE HISTORY - GRAND HOTEL RIVIERA - SORRENTO Grand Hotel Riviera was built in 1968. It was formerly a private mansion called "Cappriccio", located where you can currently find the Bar and part of the Salon.After expansion authorization, the whole building became larger and it currently includes 105 rooms, listed in several classes. The private path going directly to the sea, is entirely hand-made and is 68 meters high.During the '70s and the '80s, Hotel Riviera was the only hotel set on a cliff over-looking the sea and the only one to have halls which could host 300 people; thus, it was the lite reception centre.Many popular events were held here, during the "International Meeting of Sorrento Cinema", with many popular guests, such as Vittorio Gassman, VirnaLisi, Sandra Mondaini, Raimondo Vianello, Carlo Ponti, Sophia Loren, and so on.Later, the hotel hosted Domenico Modugno who wrote his song "Andiamo a villeggiare all'Hotel Riviera" during his stay there. Nowadays, Hotel Riviera is proud of its 40 year history, thanks to a family that always takes care of its clients' needs and whose great expertise has been handed down over three generations.
