Knole Stony Hill

The Knole Stony Hill. St. Andrew, Jamaica W.I. The Knole Stony Hill  is one of the older and more famous Great Houses in the Jamaica, West Indies, of yesteryear, nestled in the foothills of the magnificent mountain range that encircles the ever sprawling city of Kingston. The home was built by Edward R. Hanna C.B,E, the CEO of R. Hanna and Sons Ltd., an industrial and retail giant from the 1920s until present times. The Company still exists under a newer name, Better Buy Ltd. Over seventy years ago, the main house was enlarged from a summer retreat cottage into what it is today  by local architect and interior designer, Suzie Latraille, and Italian Prisoners of War who were interned in Jamaica during the second world war. The main house boasts the most beautiful  parquet floors made from local timbers and also poured terrazzo. The grand staircase models beautiful grille work created by fine Italian craftsmen. The Knole stands alone as the great old lady who has survived many hurricanes and disasters. Knole Jamaica has been graced with the presence of visiting Royalty and many celebrities, and is today an ideal gated community of seven Mini Villas and Apartments, all tastefully and exquisitely furnished with original works of Art by local and foreign renowned Artists. www.knolejamaica.com This video is about The Knole in Kingston, Jamaica
