Over seventy years ago, the main house was enlarged from a summer retreat cottage into what it is today by local architect and interior designer, Suzie Latraille, and Italian Prisoners of War who were interned in Jamaica during the second world war. The main house boasts the most beautiful parquet floors made from local timbers and also poured terrazzo. The grand staircase models beautiful grille work created by fine Italian craftsmen. The Knole stands alone as the great old lady who has survived many hurricanes and disasters.
