Lake Minnetonka - Sunrise/Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States/ With cool temperatures well into the fall season, Lake Minnetonka boat traffic has dropped off significantly as most boats have headed for winter storage. No boat traffic and calm winds however sets up a smooth glassy surface across the 14,500 acres of the lake for a perfect October sunrise. Vivid colors and a full spectrum of pastels quickly give way to the intense morning light. Off in the distance, the city of Minneapolis can be seen against the earth's shadow as the sun breaks the horizon. In a few months, the lake will freeze two feet thick or more allowing cars to drive across.Filmed with a DJI Phantom Vision, edited and color graded with Sony Vegas. The majority of this film was shot in hands-off autonomous mode, while other portions were with full hands-on piloting controls. Much of this film was shot from hover positions at 200 - 300 feet. The camera stabilization of the Phantom is so precise the video often looks like static images.
