Lerwick From The Air

Lerwick From The Air

Lerwick From The Air In this video we take a trip above some of the most scenic spots in Lerwick, the capital of Shetland, the most northerly group of islands in the UK. Starting at the Sands of Sound, a beautiful beach on the south side of town, we head to the Broch of Clickimin, known locally as the "Picts Castle". This site dates from over 1000BC, with various settlements throughout the ages including an early farmstead and iron age dwellings. From here we head over to The Knab, a promontory between Bressay Sound and Breiwick Bay. Here we take in some stunning views of Lerwick and the surrounding area. Filmed with a GoPro Hero 3 Black at 1080/25, mounted to a DJI Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal. Music is "Branches (Instrumental Version)" by Josh Woodward. Welcome to The Shetland Flyer’s Vimeo profile! Here you'll find beautiful videos and photographs of Shetland filmed from the air using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and radio controlled gliders. This allows us to achieve stunning views normally only seen from an aircraft, and shows off our wonderful islands from a whole new perspective. Most of the videos are filmed using a GoPro Hero 3 Black edition camera. Shot in 2.7k they are rendered in 21:9 HD ultra widescreen using Final Cut Pro X providing a broadcast quality experience for the viewer. We hope you enjoy these videos. As most of the content is released under a Creative Commons license (Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0) please feel free to share on the net so others can see our beautiful islands.
