Melissa Quarry underwater treasure - I had been doing some long distance high altitude testing around my parents rural property in Melissa TX since there’s less interference and I can push the Phantom out further. I was out around 2200FT at 230FT altitude when I passed over what looked like an abandoned quarry and saw something on the video that caught my eye. I decided to go for a quick stroll so I could get eyes on and fly the Phantom closer to the water without inadvertently running into the quarry wall or into the water. When I got down there what I found amazed me there was some heavy equipment submerged beneath the surface, $100s of thousands of dollars of equipment quietly sleeping under 14ft of water. Why it’s there I have no idea but I’ve been trying to find out, best guess is that during drilling they hit a natural spring and it filled up way too fast to worry about getting equipment out.
