Chinatown People’s Park Complex

Chinatown People’s Park Complex 4K is both a commercial and residential property. The commercial and residential blocks were completed in 1970 and 1973 respectively. The 31-floor high-rise building is on a 1 hectare land located at the heart of Chinatown. The commercial space is used for office rental and sale. Standing tall at 103 metres in height, People's Park Complex building was the first shopping centre of its kind in entire Southeast Asia and the largest shopping complex in the commercial belt along New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street. It formed the basis and pattern for subsequent retail developments in Singapore. Being at the centre of Chinatown area, there are many shops selling Chinese items. Among other items, people throng the Complex for souvenirs, food, fabrics, and other things that strike their fancy. The food stalls are affordable to people to eat to their hearts’ content. Nearby to the People's Park Complex are Cold Storage China Square, Coleurs Pte Ltd, China Square Central, and Central Mall for amenities like grocery, retail shopping, banks, etc. There are eateries that are worth visiting very close to the Complex, which are Kopitiam (South Bridge Court), Morning Star Food Court, and 189 New Bridge Road. Nearest schools to the Centre are Columbia Business School, AusEd-UniEd Singapore Pte. Ltd., Outram Secondary School, Asia Pacific School of Business, and Singapore Management University.
