Costa Rica Playa Herradura

Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica Playa Herradura is a small beach located on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, about 3.5 miles (6km) north of the town Jaco.In Spanish, Herradura translates as “horseshoe,” an appropriate title considering the shape of this bay. Because of the bay, the water is tranquil and perfect for swimming. Farther out, though, good sport fishing can be enjoyed. The Carara National Park is nearby and offers visitors an excellent place to see an abundance of flora and fauna, including swarms of crocodiles that live within the Tárcoles River. What’s more, the town of Jacó – which has good surfing, shopping and partying – is a mere 3.6 miles (6 km) away. The Marriott Los Sueños is a place of dreams. The massive property – replete with an 18-hole golfcourse, casino, spa, and 20-slip marina – spreads all the way to the shoreline and is composed of some 1,100 acres (445 ha). The hotel itself is designed with elegant Spanish colonial architecture. There are expansive, pillar-lined hallways that separate into sitting rooms, conference areas and restaurants. The hotel’s six restaurants offer guests a wide assortment of tasty food – both local and international – and drinks. Relaxation can be had outdoors at the expansive pool or indoors at the Sibö Rainforest Spa, where guests can be treated to body scrubs, facials, manicures and more.
