Zona de Arqueológica Ihuatzio Ihuatzio Michoacan/Zona de Arqueológica Ihuatzio, Tzintzuntzan, Mexico.Ihuatzio or Jiuatzio in Purepecha language means "in the house of coyote". Originally the place was known as Yacatécharo. It is located north of the Michoacan state to 65 km., it is part of the municipality of Tzintzuntzán, which bordered on the north of Quiroga, with Huiramba northwest, south and west with Patzcuaro with Erongarícuaro. In its natural environment it dominates the mixed forest with pine, oak and cedar. Its fauna is represented by coyotes, squirrels, armadillos, rabbits and weasels./ Para arribar al sitio a partir de la Ciudad de Morelia es necesario tomar la Carretera Federal Núm. 14con dirección a Pátzcuaro, al llegar a Tzurumutaro se toma la Carretera Federal Núm. 120 con dirección a Quiroga. Sobre este camino, en el kilómetro 14 hay un entronque, allí se toma la dirección poniente que lleva al poblado de Ihuatzio. Al arribar al centro de este poblado, se debe tomar el camino localizado al norte, y transitar sobre el mismo por una distancia aproximada de 800 m., hasta llegar a la entrada de la zona arqueológica. El visitante también puede arribar al sitio por medio del transporte público tomando los colectivos (combis) que parten de Pátzcuaro o Quiroga con dirección al poblado de Ihuatzio.  inah.gob.mx
