Schwarzenbachtalsperre

Schwarzenbachtalsperre Forbach, Germany On a cold and sunny winter's day at the Schwarzenbach dam. Schwarzenbachtalsperre (elev. 668.5 m) is located between the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse and the Murgtal. Almost 2 km long, Schwarzenbachtalsperre is the largest reservoir in the northern and central Black Forest. Water is directed in underground and overground headrace tunnels and pressure shafts for generating electricity. Due to its idyllic location, surrounded by Black Forest mountains, the lake is a popular destination in both summer and winter. Numerous attractions around the lake can be reached by hiking or mountain biking. There is an impressive view from the dam to the valley below or out across the lake.
