Antico Borgo

Antico Borgo Fumone, Frosinone, Italy/The noble Borgo Frosini was built by the Frosini family, between the end of the 1600 and the beginning of the 1700. The borgo is an Italian word describing an ensemble of houses around a common court: in our case, the Borgo Frosini contains a country villa that functioned as farm, the family chapel, built in 1714, and another farmhouse for the tenant farmers, a casa colonica, which today hosts our vacation apartments. During the years 2006 to 2008, major restructuring was carried out to give back the villa its original splendour, with the permission and direct supervision of the Soprintendenza dei Beni Artistici e Architettonici of Arezzo, the governmental department responsible for the Italian artistic and architectonic heritage. The casa colonica and the two holiday apartments it hosts feature the typical style of the peasants’ architecture in the surroundings of Arezzo: everything was built by using locally available materials. The restructuration works have been consistent with this approach: while adopting the most modern techniques for sustainable architecture, our choice was to use wooden structures, lime plasters, and Tuscan cotto handmade floor tiles. All details have been meticulously taken care of, all pieces of furniture carefully selected, in order for our guests to have a really pleasant, relaxing and The spatial disposition of our vacation apartments allows both the Appartamento Anita and the Appartamento Gemma to enjoy complete privacy and independence. In addition, the guests of both apartments can use the travertine-bordered swimming pool
