Mount Auckland - A Drones Perspective 4K Glorit, Auckland, New Zealand Walk to the summit of Mount Auckland (Atuanui) through regenerating native forest, with spectacular views over the nearby Kaipara Harbour and Hoteo River estuary.The walkway follows an airstrip and logging track along the ridge to the Atuanui forest, which has fine stands of regenerating rimu and kauri. It continues up a narrow ridge with side tracks to view mature kauri.A lookout at the summit (305 metres) provides panoramic views. From here you can retrace your steps or take the track westward to the Kaipara Coast Highway exit, which is a steeper descent. This end of the track exits through farm land to SH 16.The track entrance is sign-posted 3 km down Glorit-Kaipara Hills Rd, off Kaipara Coast Highway (SH 16), 70 km north-west of Auckland. An alternative but steeper ascent is via the track sign-posted on SH 16, 2 km north of the Glorit-Kaipara Rd turnoff. Mount Auckland from the sky in 4K. Enjoy. I did!
