The Fortress of Eleutherae 4K

The Fortress of Eleutherae 4K was an ancient city on the border of Attica with Boeotia. For the exact location of the city there was a disagreement between historians. According to the most prevalent view, the city was located on the eastern slopes of Kithairon, along the narrow passage of Kaza, at the site of the ruins of an important fortress now called by the local Gyftokastro population. This view is supported by the description of Pausanias. Some place the city to the east of Myoupolis (near the Monastery of Saint Meletius), where others place ancient Oinoi. There is no information about the date of its construction, but the way it was built seems to belong to the 4th century BC. The fortress is built with the isodomic system, without the use of binder material. It is approximately ellipsoidal with a length of 330 meters and a width of about half. The total perimeter of the fortress is 860 meters. The average thickness of the walls is 2.6 meters. Along the walls are square towers. It had four gates with its main gate located on its west side. Best preserved today is its north side, which houses seven square towers. Production .VIDEO. Drone as DJI Mavic. Drone as 4k DJI Mavic.
