Scalloway aerial video

Scalloway aerial video Trondra Shetland - Scalloway is the second largest town in Shetland and the ancient capital of the islands. In this flight we take off from Sundibanks on the west coast of Mainland and fly north to the Trondra bridge, built in 1970 and rescuing the island from almost complete depopulation. Crossing the narrow Clift Sound at the bridge we take in spectacular views of Scalloway and the surrounding area. The view is dominated by the cruise ship "Gemini" moored at Blackness Pier, housing up to 600 Petrofac workers for the gas plant construction site at Sullom Voe. The Gemini is the largest vessel to ever enter Scalloway Harbour. Behind it is the "Bibbi Challenge", a flotel housing 200 BP workers employed at the Sullom Voe terminal.Flying south over Trondra we see the settlements of Cutts and Cauldhame, with the bridge to West Burra in the distance. Crossing over the sound at the bridge we return to Sundibanks. Shot with a GoPro Hero4 Black at 2.7K/30 with Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal on a Sky Hero Y6 hexacopter and rendered in 21:9 HD ultra widescreen. Music is "The Consequence of a Chance Encounter" from the "Distant Place" EP by Rory Gillies.
