Rizokastro Castle

Ruins of a Frankish castle on a stony hill above Milaki and the PPC plant. It is not known exactly when it was built, but it was probably built during the 13th century by DEI factory. It is an almost square castle, with some walls preserved until the ramparts. A tank and a gallery are inside. Also preserved at some height is the square citadel of the castle. It is said to be connected by a 1.5 km long tunnel to Milaki. During the Greek Revolution, the Greeks, led by Nikolaos Kriezotis, used the castle to imprison Turkish prisoners.
