Tower Nisiotissa

Nissiotissa beach is located in Evia, in the Oreon area, after the northern Euboikos in the narrow Artemisios just before the village of Neos Pyrgos. It is located about 15 km after Edipsos, NE on the road to Istiea. The Tower is essentially the ruins of a medieval building whose use is not exactly well known and dates back to the Frankish, 13th or 14th century. Probably it was Vigla but it can not be ruled out that it was a Frankish chapel or it was just a mill. The Austrian archaeologist and author of the fortifications of Evia, Johannes Koder (1973), considers that it is a church built in two different periods.
